The FBI has arrested millions of criminals, stopped millions of crimes from being committed, such as drug trafficking, child sex trafficking, cyber-attacks and kidnaping. But Trump’s choice of Kash Patel choice to head the FBI will end all that. He intends to purge the FBI of any employee who refuses to implement Trump’s agenda of retribution against his enemies, and Patel pledged to launch a sweeping campaign of retribution against F.B.I. agents, journalists and others. Patel also says he’d shut down the FBI Hoover building and reopen it the next day as a museum to expose the” deep state – what happens to the FBI’s 35000 employees. Patel paid Jim Jordan’s so-called whistle-blowers to falsely testify at Jordan’s committee that the FBI had been weaponized against Republicans, and he found them jobs when they were fired. Several Republican lawmakers weighed in, saying it was okay to exact revenge on Mr. Trump’s adversaries. Trump announced he intends to replace Christopher A. Wray, the current F.B.I. director, who still has three years left on his 10-year term, with Patel which has stunned many in the national security establishment. FBI heads have 10 year terms to assure their independence from the President and other government officials – but Trump and Patel combine to make a mockery of that tradition.
