Bernie Sanders, America’s most trusted, popular and crowd-drawing Senator, delivers powerful messages about Democratic values, policies and the dangers of Donald Trump. But more of his messages need to scare voters about Trump and, perhaps more importantly, shame Congressional Republicans. Here’s how:
- Trump is transferring the wealth of working Americans to himself and his oligarchs. His tax cuts will increase taxes for the bottom 95% of households while the richest 5% will see their taxes go down – way down! Trump and the House Republicans will cover the lost tax revenues by cutting working class benefits, such as Medicaid for the 73 million who rely on it. And don’t be surprised if, as Bernie Sanders effectively warns, he hits Medicare and Social Security, where he has plans to cut 7,000 jobs.
- To cover the lost revenues from his tax cuts, Trump’s cutting financial assistance for farmers, education, health care, anti-poverty programs, housing assistance, disaster relief, medical research, environmental organizations, animal cruelty prevention and more. It’s the same as wiring money from the needy and middle class directly to his bank account and the bank accounts of his oligarchs. In addition to the cuts, Trump and the House Republicans want a $4 trillion increase in the debt ceiling so Trump can borrow more to cover lost revenues, which will drive our debt to a record $40.2 trillion.
- Trump is knowingly diminishing America’s status as a superpower and joining Putin and China’s leader Xi Jinping in supplanting the US-dominated world order with one that gives the three of them the power and leverage to write the rules and bully other countries including the United States:
- He paused all military aid to Ukraine and intelligence that helped it block incoming missiles and drones and monitor invading forces. He also terminated U.S. assistance that allows Ukrainian strikes into Russia. All this is enabling a Putin victory in Ukraine and giving him a pass to invade NATO members. Xi is carefully weighing Trump’s decisions as he decides whether to invade Taiwan.
- Trump’s agreed with Putin that any peace deal would prohibit Ukraine from joining NATO and regaining territory lost during the war, and would require the demilitarization of Ukraine and new elections which Putin will undoubtedly rig to install a Putin-puppet government.
- Trump’s also agreed that the security and protection of Europe will be funded and the responsibility of Europe only and not the United States. The only thing Trump’s peace deal is missing is gift-wrapping.
- Another gift to Putin and Xi is a weakened American militarily and its superpower status. Trump’s already on the case. He’s diminished America’s global influence and military might by suspending all foreign aid . They both build critical allies around the world and spread America’s influence and military might, including the installation of military bases across the globe, which will make any confrontation against Trump and his idols near-impossible. In pursuit of this goal, Trump’s reducing the work force of USAID — America’s chief administrator of foreign aid — from around 10,000 to under 300 and cancelling around 800 of its awards and contracts that it administers.
- American allies no longer provide American intelligence agencies with information that helps prevent international aggression, such as cyber-attacks, against the United States because Trump’s exposed and endangered many America’s operatives who monitor adversaries like Russia and China.
Congressional Republicans are more to blame than Trump because Trump is emotionally dysfunctional. He is one of the 2% of American adults that are sociopaths, and Trump checks all the boxes that mental health professionals’ use to diagnose the condition. He’s incapable of experiencing guilt, shame, remorse, or empathy. He exhibits aggressive behavior and verbally attacks his critics and won’t admit mistakes. He intimidates and threatens to maintain control, disregards rules and laws, has difficulty controlling impulses, acts without considering the consequences and his dreams are his realities and frequently nightmares for others.
