Start with Trump’s tariffs that will lead to inflation that Trump will mismanage into a depression. We came close during the 2008 Great Recession, but it took the expertise and experience of the Bush and Obama cabinets to save us. Trump’s pathetically unqualified cabinet of sycophants wouldn’t have a clue.
Trump checks all the boxes mental health professionals use to diagnose a sociopath. They are irrational, compulsive and motivated by anger at events unrelated to the issue at hand. They are incapable of empathy or caring about others, they act impulsively without considering the consequences, and can’t experience guilt or remorse. As a result, they can’t relate to or understand the concerns of others. So, they’re incapable of considering them in making decisions. Trump is the poster-man for sociopaths. He’s dangerous and must be removed.
His tariffs are a repeat of 2017 when he launched his steel tariffs upon becoming “unglued” over Hope Hicks’ testimony about Russia’s election interference and when his chief of staff dropped his son-in-law’s security clearance. There was no meaningful research or explanations, no strategy to alert foreign trade partners or Congress, and no vetted communication plan. No one at the State, Treasury or Defense Departments were notified that tariffs were about to be announced.
Another example of compulsive and dangerous decision-making: After becoming frustrated over his staff’s inability to reach a consensus on pardoning January 6 attackers, he threw up his hands and said, “”F–k it, Release ’em all,” and he released into the streets dozens of prisoners with prior convictions or pending charges for crimes of rape, sexual abuse of a minor, manslaughter, child pornography, drug trafficking.
Many of the catastrophes caused by Trump are the fault of Republicans for confirming the most unqualified and dangerous cabinet of sycophants in our history. So it’s their responsibility to impeach him, and they have plenty of grounds.
Take Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Trump wanted to use the country’s nuclear arsenal during the last month of his last presidency. It took General Mark Milley to stop him. There’s no Milley now, only the sex-offending, alcoholic, unqualified Fox News co-host confirmed by Republican Senators.
Senate Republicans also risked countless deaths from another epidemic or pandemic by confirming anti-vaxxer RFK Jr. as head of the Department of Health who exaggerates — even invents — the side effects of proven vaccines such as polio, measles and Covid vaccines.
Then there’s Tulsi Gabbard confirmed as head of all our national intelligence agencies. She’s consistently shown more loyalty to Russia than to America. She sided with Russian-backed Syrian President Assad whom Putin helped in the slaughter of half a million Syrians. When Russia invaded Ukraine, Gabbard claimed, “This war and suffering could have easily been avoided if Biden had acknowledged Russia’s legitimate security concerns.” In almost every foreign conflict with Russia, Gabbard backed Moscow
Gabbard will help Trump weaken America’s status as a superpower in order to join Putin and Xi in their efforts to supplant the US-dominated world order with one that gives them the leverage to write the rules and bully other countries, including the United States? Trump’s efforts include:
- Pausing military aid and intelligence to Ukraine that helped it block incoming missiles and monitor invading forces. He also terminated U.S. assistance that allows Ukrainian strikes into Russia.
- Encouraging Putin to invade NATO members.
- Prohibiting Ukraine from joining NATO and requiring its demilitarization and new elections to install a Putin-puppet government.
- Agreeing that the security and protection of Europe will be funded by and be the responsibility of Europe and not the US.
- Diminishing America’s global influence and military might, including installing military bases, by suspending foreign aid throughout the world.
As a result, our allies no longer provide America with intelligence that prevents international aggression against us such as cyber-attacks, particularly after Trump exposed many of America’s operatives who monitor adversaries like Russia and China.
By impeaching Trump, Republicans can undo the damage they’ve wreaked on America. If they don’t, they’ll be responsible for the winds that will blow then.
