It’s projected that the Social Security retirement trust fund will deplete its reserves in 2032. The expected payments will cover only around 78% of scheduled retirement benefits. Then, if Congress doesn’t act, benefits would need to be slashed by roughly 26%, according to the bipartisan Concretional Budget Office (the CBO) . 

Under FICA, employees pay 6.2% of their wages for a Social Security payroll tax and 1.45% for a Medicare tax, with employers matching those amounts.

But the Social Security tax applies only to the first $184,500 of earnings. Earnings above that are aren’t subject to the tax. So, today, a person earning $1 million and a person earning $184,500 pay the same Social Security payroll tax, — another tax break for the wealthy.

Congress should increase Social Security revenues by eliminating the $184,500 cap for high earners and requiring them to pay Social Security taxes on more or all of their wages. It’s estimated that imposing the payroll tax on all earnings above $184,500 without providing additional benefits would eliminate around two-thirds of Social Security’s projected shortfall. 

2. Lower inflation by reducing the Federal Deficit 

The CBO projects the federal deficit to reach $2.0 trillion after the 11thmonth of fiscal year 2026 ending September 30th. It also projects annual deficits to reach $3.1 trillion in 2036 and that Federal debt held by the public will rise from 101% of GDP to 120% of GDP in the same year, which almost certainly will raise interests and begin a migration of investors to other currencies.

To lower the deficit we need to spend less, raise taxes or a combination of both.

The 2017 tax law enacted during Trump’s first term reduced the top federal individual income-tax rate from 39.6% to 37%, and made it permanent in 2026. But, sadly, Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill cut benefits of programs for the needy, including Medicaid and SNAP. In other words, the One Big Beautiful Bill took money from Medicaid, SNAP and other programs to replace the tax revenues lost from the tax cuts for America’s wealthiest. 

Instead of cutting benefits for the needy, Congress should, in addition to raising the Social Security tax for those with the greatest ability to pay, spend less by making the government operate more efficiently. A likely response will be “We’ve heard that before!” 

But that was exactly President Clinton did under his National Performance Review of Government. After examining government agencies and other functions, the review recommended eliminating unnecessary programs, consolidating overlapping activities, streamlining bureaucracy and the delivery of government services. 

Although the result wasn’t a home run, the National Performance Review improved government practices enough to reduce the federal workforce and some operating expenses. The Clinton administration identified approximately $108 billion in projected savings for fiscal years 1995 through 1999.

The independent, nonpartisan Brookings Institution judged the workforce savings to be substantial. And the government ran a surplus for fiscal years 1995 through 1999, which contributed to strong tax revenues from a growing economy and a rising stock market.  

An important feature of the National Performance Review was that it relied heavily on the people who actually worked inside the federal government as opposed taking the DOGE ax to government functions without evaluating them first.

So it was unnecessary for Trump to dismantle federal agencies, look to national safety nets to replace lost tax revenues, cut foreign aid resulting in 700,000 deaths – including 250,000 children–, and the agencies that predicted and rescued victims of disasters. 

Many economists believe that if Congress doesn’t act, then following the Fed’s recent increase in the Federal funds rate, interest rates will continue to rise across the board, including on home mortgages and car loans, and lead to higher interest costs on Treasury debt and higher deficits.  So, something a kin to a National Performance Review is urgent to slow inflation and save Social Security.

A problem is President Trump’s chicanery. He promises that tax cuts will generate enough additional economic growth to increase tax revenues that will substantially or completely offset any increase in the deficit. Specifically, he estimated $2.1–$2.3 trillion in deficit reduction from higher growth attributable to the tax cuts of his One Big Beautiful Bill. In contrast to Trump and Republican promises, the CBO estimated that the bill would increase – not reduce — deficits by about $2.8 trillion over that period. The Tax Foundation, giving some optimism to favorable growth, estimated that it would offset the lost tax revenue by only 19% — not 100%. 

Trump and the Congressional Republicans promised five times before, starting with President Reagan, that their tax cuts would generate enough economic growth to cover the lost tax revenues. They never did. 

Congress has not passed a serious and comprehensive tax reform bill since 1986, when Ronald Reagan was President. It’s time the did.

Their votes came after 60 courts including the Supreme Court (three times), state election officials in every state, and all federal election officials and agencies and Trump’s own Attorney General, William Barr rejected their claim of voter fraud.

White House lawyer Eric Herschmann testified that the general concern behind the pardon request was that “we may get prosecuted.”

The fear of prosecution becomes even greater when combined with the history of Trump’s retaliation against his enemies. Voting to certify the 2020 electoral votes would clearly make those Republicans his enemies. 

Also, the fear of investigation alone opens the likelihood of subpoenas, search warrants, grand-jury proceedings, witness interviews, seized communications, and other investigative processes which can lead to political embarrassment or incriminating evidence of conspiracy and other crimes.

Trump’s pernicious power over Republican members of Congress has enabled him to dismantle the Constitution’s guardrails against one branch of government exceeding and abusing its power. Allowing the Republicans on Trump’s leash to continue to enable Trump is knowing homicide. They need to be replaced either with Republicans not on Trump’s leash or Democrats. Only then can we begin to repair the damage Trump has done to our country and restore America to the honor, trust, and respect that Republicans helped strip away and return it to the once-respected global leader from a nation widely mocked, distrusted, and increasingly shunned .

But before you spend it, remember, some of you fell for similar broken promises.  

The $5,000 checks he promised as a DOGE dividendnever arrived. Neither did the $2,000 tariff-dividend checks he promised. 

Consider Trump University. Many hopeful folks paid thousands of dollars to learn the secret to Trump’s real-estate strategies (but not to his strategies for the six projects he filed into bankruptcy). With a criminal fraud suit hanging over his head, he settled by paying Trump University customers $25 million. 

Then there’s Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill that gave America’s wealthiest a $4.5 billion tax cut. Trump promised middle- and low-income earners that they would gain “at least $13,000 a year” from the bill. Of course they didn’t. His promise was based on his heavily inflated, i.e., false, projections for economic growth. Indeed, Trump and his Republicans had already fooled us five times, when they promised their tax cuts would generate enough economic growth to cover tax revenues lost to tax cuts for the wealthy. They never did. 

Now Trump wants to gull voters into believing another extraordinary financial promise – or more accurately a bribe: Elect Republicans and you’ll get $5,000. It doesn’t bother him that many of the checks will go to Democrats, including Democratic candidates for Congress and state governments. It doesn’t bother him because he knows he’ll never send out any checks.

So before voting on the expectation that Donald Trump is going to send you $5,000, ask yourself one question: Where are the checks from his last promises.

Perhaps more importantly is the question: do you want to keep the Republicans in Congress who enabled his dismantling of our government?

The cost, production time, and efficacy of American military technology has shifted the balance of its military might to hostile nations. 

• A U.S. Patriot interceptor missile costs $4 million per shot versus $2,000–$4,000 for some Ukrainian interceptor drones.
•  Two-thirds of the U.S. Patriot missile inventory has been used up in the Iran war,
• Its interceptor missiles it uses to shoot down Iranian missiles have been consumed at a pace the U.S probably hasn’t budgeted for. 
• Given the time of production for U.S. missiles, they will probably arrive too late and in amounts to small to continue the conflict with Iran whose drones can be produced in mass in a fraction of the time it takes the United States.

The populations of our enemies are more willing to endure suffering without adverse political consequences than American voters are. Russians will cheer Putin on for new invasions. His ratings rose to 84 percent during his second war in Chechnya and to 88 percent after he annexed Crimea, which gave birth to the “Crimean consensus” holding that Russians are willing to endure hardship to recreate a Russian-led Eurasian empire. 

Germany agreed to buy a massive amount of gas from a new pipeline that will provide Russia with leverage over Europe’s energy security.

The U.S. has become gullible about Putin’s good will towards America. Bush told the press that he looked Putin in the eye and saw his soul, and that he can be trusted.

Our enemies have lost fear and respect for America’s military strategies.

• Our chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan exposed careless military planning and preparations. The U.S. should have realized that a withdrawal would be inevitable long ago, and should have avoided or planned for it.

• Pete Hegseth has decided to phase out an Army drone unit, seemingly because it was championed by generals he didn’t like. 

• The Biden administration’s weak response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine fomented doubt about America’s tolerance of Russian or Chinese aggression. Biden should have reacted immediately upon Putin’s deployment of troops along Ukraine’s border and shouldn’t have waited until the invasion to arm Ukraine or coordinate with NATO to deploy troops in Ukraine, which could have avoided the invasion completely.

Our enemies are cooperating with each other to ready more military strength against the United States.

• Putin’s  “no limits” partnership with China gave him confidence he could vanquish Ukraine,

• Russia is helping North Korea modernize its armed forces, and Kim Jong Un reciprocated by sending millions of artillery rounds to Russia and thousands of troops to fight against Ukraine. 

• China is supplying Russia with most of the electronic components used in its drones and other military hardware. 

• Russia has given Iran critical targeting intelligence to strike U.S. bases and ships in the Middle East. 

• In the event of a Chinese attack on Taiwan, Russia’s powerful Pacific submarine fleet is available to help China

• China has already ordered its armed forces to be ready to seize Taiwan by 2027.

• A senior Biden national security official, evaluating our chances in a war with China uttered “every trick we had up our sleeve, the Chinese had redundancy after redundancy.”

• The travails of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln are a national disgrace and have called attention to the small size of the fleet and a depleted industrial base that struggles to build and maintain ships. 

• Trump’s alienation of U.S. allies has cast doubt on their willingness to come to the United States aid in the event of a conflict.

Although this ominous momentum has built over many administrations, it is the current Trump administration’s reckless, haphazard and planless war that has depleted our military materiel, that turned fear of our military into near entertainment by its slapstick military operation, and its unprecedented rudeness and betrayal of our allies that lost their willingness to help us.

On June 25, Sullivan ordered Blanche to either release the unredacted FBI interview notes and other documents or justify withholding them. Blanche chose the withhold and justify option. 

Sullivan has already expressed frustration with Blanche’s excuses, referred to his own history of holding government attorneys in contempt, and admonished Blanche, “That isn’t a threat. …That’s a promise.”

If Sullivan holds Blanche and other DOJ employees in contempt, he can incarcerate Blanche and the other employees until the DOJ delivers the documents requested.

Although it’s uncertain whether Trump could pardon the offenders from criminal contempt charges, it’s clear that he could not pardon them from civil contempt, which also can be used to jail violators until they comply with a court order.  

The power to compel compliance with court orders, including for contempt, is backstopped by the ability to jail people who defy them. 

But judges have traditionally relied on the U.S. Marshal’s Service which reports to both the courts and the Attorney General for enforcement, who are part of the DOJ. Although it’s virtually certain that Trump’s DOJ would refuse to enforce a court’s sanction for civil contempt, the courts have another option.

The Supreme Court has unanimously held that courts can appoint a private attorney outside the executive branch to prosecute civil contempt if the executive branch refuses to do so. It has also held that “the ability to punish disobedience of judicial orders” is “essential to ensuring that the Judiciary has a means to enforce its own authority without complete dependence on other Branches (emphasis added).”

There is also a compelling Constitutional basis for holding that a president cannot pardon people guilty of criminal contempt for violating a court order. Although the Trump-leaning Republican majority of the Supreme Court has said in non-binding dictum that a presidential pardon cannot be impaired by any court, it’s hard to believe – even for Trump Supreme Court loyalists — that the framers of the Constitution could not have intended the pardon power to usurp the Constitution’s core requirements of checks and balances and separation of powers. 

Tragically, neither the Supreme Court nor Congress’s Republican enablers act as checks on the DOJ. The judiciary is the only check on Trump’s DOJ.

The Trump administration has joined in. It:

• Made it easier to discriminate against blacks in housing, employment and education by weakeningthe ability to challenge policies that disproportionately harm racial minorities.
  
• Made it more difficult for Blacks to get jobs with government contractors by ending long-standing affirmative action requirements that applied to them.

• Dismantled federal race diversity programs and pressured federally funded institutions and private employers to do the same. 

• Threatened to withhold funding from schools that consider race in their admissions, hiring, scholarships, and other programs. 

• Canceled research grants to investigate disparities in disease rates among races, including Alzheimer’s, which is disproportionately  suffered by Black Americans.

• Eliminated initiatives that address the continued consequences of slavery and racial discriminations, and

• Is investigating medical school Black admission programs.

So, it’s crucial that Blacks and Hispanics vote in masse in the midterms. 92% of 1,600 registered Black male voters in six battleground states said that voting is important and 74% said they were almost sure or probably going to vote in the midterms. Only 25% said they were uncertain or unlikely to vote in November. Sadly, that’s probably not enough to negate the racist Supreme Court Republican majority’s unconstitutional greenlight to racially gerrymander and the administrations hostility against people of color. 

But suppose Black and Hispanic voters together make up 25% of the electorate in a competitive district or state. If 90% of them vote Democratic, it would deliver an 80-point net margin and dramatically improve their battle for the House and Senate.

Pew’s July 2026 polling has Democrats leading Republicans 68%-8% among Black registered voters and 49%-26% among Hispanicvoters, with the rest undecided or voting for someone else. 

Bringing Black voters closer to the 92% who say voting is important could flip close races to Democrats in Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.

If Democrats win a majority in the House, they would control investigations, subpoenas, hearings and appropriations, and subject the administration to Congressional scrutiny and constraint it has not faced with Republican majorities. And, importantly, Congress could no longer pass Republican-only legislation which would give Democrats more leverage over Republican-sponsored legislation.

If Democrats win majority in the Senate, they could prevent Trump from putting another Justice on the Supreme Court and filling other federal judgeships.

But the Black and Hispanic turnout has to be large. Although nearly all Black voters believe voting is important and are still politically engaged, they’re being misread and ignored. Democratic messaging hasn’t bombarded them enough with the brazen racism resident in the White House, the Supreme Court and Trump-enabling Republicans.

Blacks aren’t getting compelling-enough messages through texts, mail, or TV ads. 90% of young Black men get their politics from YouTube, and 44% they get it through social media. Those platforms need to be prioritized. 

It’s hard to believe that the Senate would ever convict Trump after he’s impeached, given that it requires a two thirds vote and their shameful fealty to him. But Republican dissatisfaction with him is growing rapidly. 

Some Republicans say they’d vote to convict if there were a secret ballot. Outgoing Republicans have used their remaining time in office to vote against Trump’s legislative agenda, challenge his foreign policy, or openly criticize his conduct – both clear reflections of their and probably other sitting Republicans’ true feelings about Trump. 

So, would they vote to convict him if he had been fired from the Presidency based on compelling and publicly reported evidence of shameful and egregious use of his office? 

That would depend on how much influence Trump would have over voters after he’s no longer President, i.e., whether Republicans would still fear being challenged by Trump-backed candidates. 

His influence over voters would diminish if the evidence for conviction is ugly enough to make him an electoral liability. Moreover, if other Republican Senators are prepared to vote for conviction, i.e., the rats are leaving the ship and Trump-tarnished Republicans don’t want  to be left behind, conviction becomes more likely. 

Most importantly, 67% of voters want the return of bipartisanship and many Republicans want to regain the popularity of the Reagan era. But Trump needs to be removed to reach those goals. Only then could the bipartisanship that solved the country’s most difficult issues for centuries reemerge from America’s political parties that have never been so hostile to each other until Trump came on the scene.

Trump’s abysmal Covid record, so they picked on Dr. Anthony Fauci. 

To start with, Trump ignored two years of warnings that America was not equipped to handle a pandemic and that his neglect would lead to the loss of lives. 

At the end of Trump’s first administration, America, the world’s richest country with the strongest economy, had more coronavirus cases and deaths from Covid than any other country, including China, whose population is more than four times larger. 

The U.S. then accounted for just 4.2 percent of the world’s population but a shameful 30 percent of COVID-19 cases and 19 percent of COVID deaths. The virus’s spread had slowed in 12 other countries and China was already returning to work while the U.S. remained shut down.

Just like today’s Republicans are scouring irrelevant documents, such as Fauci’s diary, to find the slightest Fauci transgression in order to distract voters from Trump’s dismal Covid performance, Trump tried to shift the blame for failing to stop the spread of Covid cases and deaths to Obama, state governors, all sitting Democrats, the media and, most bizarrely, the WHO. 

Republicans intensified their war on Covid vaccines by blocking vaccine mandates. All  27 states  that asked the Supreme Court to block vaccine mandates were Republican-led, and 12 of them had already banned them at the state level. The outcomes of their attacks, ironically, proved that the vaccines saved lives. Even the Department of Health in Texas — a solidly Republican state —  concluded that the unvaccinated were 20 times more likely to die from COVID.

In counties that voted heavily for Trump, monthly COVID deaths per 100,000 peaked at 35; seven times the peak in counties that voted heavily for Joe Biden. Every Senate Republican voted to overturn Biden’s vaccine mandates. Senator Ted Cruz introduced a bill to block Covid vaccine mandates for public schools.

Republican Representative Madison Cawthorn warned that Biden’s door-to-door vaccine efforts could morph into a door-to-door confiscation of guns and Bibles. And Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted, “People … don’t need … medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations.” Tucker Carlson at Fox News called the Biden vaccination plan “the greatest scandal in my lifetime.”

Trump shamefully abandoned the leading global role America played over the seven decades in fighting infectious diseases. Instead, he told governors they were on their own to find the equipment needed to fight Covid, admonishing them that the federal government is “not a shipping clerk.” 

Yet, in all these headwinds, Dr. Anthony Fauci supported research that led to effective Covid vaccines and urged Americans to take initial Covid vaccines and Covid boosters. Their effectiveness was overwhelming. Indeed, the nonpartisan Commonwealth Fund found that COVID vaccines likely prevented 1.1 million deaths.

Tragically, these Republicans forced Dr. Faci to take the Fifth Amendment — not because he had something to hide – but because it was the only way to avoid fabricated charges and to protect himself and his family from the violence Trump has greenlighted against the people he falsely accuses.

Of the roughly 800 U.S. billionaires on the Forbes list, approximately 300 -350 lean Democratic and 250-300 lean Republican. Yet, of the $1.9 billion spent on federal campaigns by the richest Americans, $1.36 billion went to support Republicans while about $700 million supported Democratic. Specifically:

• Elon Musk spent about $277 million on Trump’s presidential campaign and PACs that support him,
• Timothy Mellon’s $165–197 million political donations went overwhelmingly to Republicans that support Trump.
• The vast majority of Miriam Adelson’s $132 million donation went to Trump’s presidential campaign, Republican super PACs, GOP candidates and his self-glorifying construction projects. 
• Ken Griffin and Stephen Schwarzman who initially distanced themselves from Trump gave substantial sums to support him after he  was nominated.  

Most Republican billionaire donations went to support Trump’s efforts, while Democratic billionaires spent more on the public good. 

For example, Republican billionaire money is helping Trump: 

• Fix election outcomes (he’s already trying),
• Control the judiciary (they already control the  Supreme Court),
• Consolidate full government control in Trump,
• Continue to weaponize the DOJ against Trump critics and political opponents, and
• Abolish freedom of the press by
  • Allowing Trump loyalists to buy news outlets. Jeff Bezos bought The Washington Post,
  • Controlling online platforms. Elon Musk bought Twitter, 
  • Using bogus Lawsuits to extract monetary settlements from the press.
  • Funding cuts to Public Broadcasting,
  • Blocking multi-billion-dollar deals that media companies need to survive.
  • Exchanging political favor for the surrendering editorial independence.

In contrast, Democratic billionaires such as George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, and Reid Hoffman funded causes such as expanding voter registration, protecting voting rights, environmental policy, gun safety, and public education. 

Although these causes benefit Americans more than what Republican billionaires are funding, it’s urgent that Democratic billionaires start more heavily funding projects that arrest Trump’s path to dictatorship. There’s plenty more they can fund, such as: 

• Stronger messaging, for example messaging that directly shames Trump-enabling Republicans, 
• Legal defense for journalists facing retaliatory lawsuits so Trump can’t bully them into settling.
• Injunctions that prevent election interference,
• Real-time public factchecking during Trump and other GOP misleading public addresses.  
• Reviving local newspapers that have disappeared to:
  • Inform locals on the issues that impact their lives, 
  • Motivate civic engagement and higher voter turnout, 
  • Reduce reliance on misinformation on social media,
  • Fund local election campaigns of Democrats. (Republicans have been funding their candidates for decades.)

Why do Republican billionaires fund policies that enrich them, like tax cuts and less business regulation, and Democratic billionaires mostly fund causes for the public good?

Republican billionaires argue that lower taxes encourage economic growth and more jobs. But history paints a very different picture. Starting with President Reagan, every Republican administration cut taxes and promised that it would spur economic and job growth. It didn’t do either. Instead it resulted in record deficits and U.S. Treasury debt. And the cuts benefitted mostly the top 20% of earners. Shamefully, the Republican tax law requires Medicare and Medicaid cuts. That means lower earners will suffer lower take-home income.

The best way to throttle the path to a dictatorship is for Democrats to recapture both majorities in Congress. But first, Democrats need to stop Trump from rigging the midterms. Here’s how.

• Pervert and degrade the Department of Justice.  

You voted for Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill gave America’s wealthiest a $4.5 trillion tax cuts and cuts Medicare and Medicaid to replace the trillions in lost tax revenue.

Here’s what you didn’t do

You watched on bended knees as, in a show of contempt for American taxpayers, and he spent their taxes to deface century-old iconic landmarks  to glorify himself. It cost taxpayers:

• $769 million to build his garish ballroom, 

• More than $16million for his botched renovation of the LincolnMemorial reflecting pool. 
• $100 million to build the Triumphal Arlington Arch — another tribute to himself. 
• $40 million for Trump’s 250th Army Anniversary Military Parade to celebrate his birthday. 

All thiswhile wealth inequality hit its widest gap in more than 3 decades. 

And you did nothing.

Trump choosing Putin over Zalenski is likely to motivate Putin to invade NATO members. 

He’s pushing Zalenski to accept Putin’s preposterous conditions for peace including that European security be funded and defended only by Europe and not by the United States.

And you did nothing.

Trump’s decisions are often triggered by anger unrelated to the issue at hand. It took General Mark Milley to stop trump from using the country’s nuclear arsenal during the last month of his first presidency. Chinese officials caught wind of it and thought the U.S. was getting ready to attack. Milley had to call the head of its military and assure him “we are not going to attack.” 

And you did nothing.

Trump is replacing agency Democrats with a Republican in clear violation of bipartisan legislation in order to bring the agencies created by Congress under his control. 

And you did nothing. And you’re still doing nothing

You could have stopped all of it, but chose not to, so you need to be replaced. Impeachment and conviction may be a drastic step, but it is more necessary now than ever. Americans agree. A new national poll finds that 55% of likely 2026 voters nationwide support impeaching and removing Trump — an extraordinary and unprecedented level of support for removal so early in a presidential term.

Only then can we repair the colossal damage Trump’s wreaked on  America and to regain the global trust, respect and cooperation that Republicans stripped away, diminishing America to a country mocked, distrusted, and increasingly shunned.

I haven’t found any reliable analysis of the percentage of time CNN and MSNBC spend condemning Trump compared with his Republican and Supreme Court conspirators. So I asked ChatGPT to build a model and answer the question. 

Their findings were: 

• CNN spent 70-75% criticizing Trump, 20-25% criticizing his obedient Republicans and 5-10% criticizing the Trump-devoted Supreme Court majority.

• MSNBC spent 70-80% criticizing Trump, 15-20% criticizing his obedient Republicans and 5-10% criticizing the Trump-devoted Supreme Court majority.

TRUMP’S OBEDIENT REPUBLICANS
They are the only elected officials who could have stopped Trump from undermining our government. They refused, and they: 

• Confirmed the most dangerous and unqualified cabinet in our history. 

• Voted for Trump’s $4.5 trillion tax cut which cuts Medicare and Medicaid to replace the trillions in lost tax revenue.

• Watched on bended knee as Trump spent nearly $1billion of taxpayers’ money to deface iconic landmarks that glorify him while wealth inequality hit its widest gap in more than 3 decades. 

• Did nothing as Trump destroyed America’s military and trade relationships with, and the trust and respect of our closest allies. 

• Did nothing as Trump favored Putin over Zalensky, likely motivating Putin to invade NATO members. 

• Risked what Trump could do when he’s derailed by who-knows-what or by revenge against those who thwart him – think Iran. It took General Milley to stop him from using the country’s nuclear arsenal during the last month of his first presidency. There will be no General Milley to stop him next time.

Indeed, Republicans are more to blame than Trump for his march towards dictatorship. Trump’s completely untethered from reality. He checks all the boxes that mental health professionals’ use to diagnose a sociopath. He: 

• Is incapable of experiencing guilt, shame, remorse, or empathy. 
• Behaves aggressively, verbally attacks his critics and won’t admit mistakes. 
• Intimidates and threatens in order to maintain control, 
• Disregards rulings and laws, 
• Has difficulty controlling impulses, 
• Acts without considering the consequences, and
• His delusions become his realities but nightmares for others.

Congressional Republicans are, at least, rational and know better, but they’ve checked their spines at the door to avoid Trump’s endorsement of a primary challenger.

THE SUPREME COURT MAJORITY
The six Trump-favoring Republicans to the Supreme Court Justices cut him loose from the Constitution and the rule of law to elevate their own politics, ideologies and loyalties over their oaths to interpret the Constitution fairly and without favoring any person. They:

• In violation of clear bipartisan legislation, they let Trump replace Democratic members of executive agencies created by Congress with Republicans in order to bring the agencies under Trump’s control.

• Gave Trump immunity beyond what’s provided by the Constitution.

• Delayed Trump’s criminal prosecution stemming from the January 6, attack on the Capitol until after the 2020 election so voters wouldn’t know if they’d be voting for a convicted felon. In contrast, the Supreme Court took just 16 days to decide Nixon wasn’t immune and one day to decide Bush v. Gore, giving the Presidency to Republican George W. Bush.

• The Court stayed three lower court injunctions of a Trump executive order as unconstitutional. At that time, injunctions prohibited unconstitutional behavior anywhere in the United States. No more. The majority limited their scope to parties covered by the litigation. 

• The Supreme Court granted many Trump requests to stay injunctions against him, which allowed him to violate the Constitution and laws until decisions on the merits were reached. Top of Form

The last and only way to restore integrity to the Supreme Court and Congress is to replace Republicans enslaved by Trump with Republicans not so enslaved, or with Democrats. Then it will take removing corrupt and flagrantly biased Justices and President Trump. I know it’s beyond drastic, but so is a nation on the brink of collapse.

Trump may not obey injunctions, but the individuals who carry out his illegal orders will out of fear of fines and incarceration for violating them. An injunction against the acts of an Executive agency, such as the Department of Homeland Security, applies to any individual who assists in the violation. And Trump and his administration have satisfied the legal requirements for unconstitutional and other illegal acts to be enjoined in advance. Courts can also require the government to reverse acts already committed by the administration. 

Trump and his administration have:

• Eviscerated the bipartisan Election Assistance Commission (EAC), preventing it from distributing funds to advance safe, secure, accurate, and accessible elections. Congress authorized the EAC to make grants to states for election security, appropriated funds for it, and directed the EAC to distribute them pursuant to a statutory formula. Neither the president nor the EAC has authority to impair what Congress has authorized and appropriated for. Such behavior violates the law and Constitution’s core requirement of separation of powers.

• Threatened to withhold 20% of Congress’s $1 billion annual terrorism preparedness grants from states that refuse to adopt voter suppression practices favored by the President. The DHS exceeded the authority Congress gave it and Congress appropriated the $1 billion for such purposes. Use of the DHS to force states to adopt voter suppression practices violates statutes and the Constitution’s core requirement of separation of powers.

• Continues threatening to deploy the military and ICE agents to polling places intending to intimidate voters from making their voices heard at the ballot box. Title 52, Sec. 101(b)provides that “no person, whether acting under color of law or otherwise, shall … attempt to intimidate, …. any other person for the purpose of interfering with their right to vote as they may choose,” and Sec. 101(c) allows injunctions to block such attempts. Democrats could get an injunction against sending ICE agents or other federal officials to the polls where the result is intimidation of voters. The injunction would apply to any individual whose presence at the polls intimidated voters. 

• Using federal investigative powers intended to interfere with lawful state governmental functions and intended to interfere with lawful state governmental functions.
• to intimidate election officials could also constitute a conspiracy against rights (18 U.S.C. § 241), deprivation of rights under color of law (18 U.S.C. § 242), and obstruction of justice, if investigations are 

The above narrative assumes that, on appeal to the Supreme Court, the Republican majority will obey their oaths tosupport the Constitution and administer fair impartial justice instead of mutilating it to empower Donald Trump.

Here’s what it could look like, that is unless Republicans remove Trump or are replaced by Republicans not tethered to him or by Democrats. 

Due to Trump’s gutting of five national security and cyber defense agencies, our power grids could be disabled, leaving millions of people and businesses without electricity. 

Our banking system could be disrupted:

• Taxes couldn’t be collected, preventing the government from carrying out its functions.
• Credit and debit card transactions will fail, leaving many unable to buy groceries, gasoline, and medicine.
• Businesses will accept cash only. That is if they can make change. 
• ATMs will run out of cash.
• It will be near impossible to pay suppliers.
• Payroll services will cease to function.
• There will be runs on banks for cash. 
• Online and mobile banking will be unavailable,  
• Stock and bond markets will experience trading freezes. 
• Stock prices will plummet.  
• Benefit payments (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans’ benefits, food assistance ) will be delayed indefinitel. 
• Cross-border payments by banks will be disabled, slowing down international trade.
• Consumer spending will be crippled.
• Recession is almost a certainty. 
• And, yes, another depression given the absence of experienced experts in Trump’s cabinet.

Chaos from cyber-attacks would disable America’s communications systems and would be difficult to mitigate. They would interrupt:

• Home and business internet access, 
• Cloud-based services, 

• Phone connections over FiOS and cell towers,
• Most telephone line enabled phone calls,
• GPS navigation, and
• Aviation communications.

Given Trump’s devotion to Putin over Zalenski, hisreduction of military aid to Ukraine, and his pressure on Zelensky to agree to unconscionable terms for peace, it’s not beyond Trump to hand Ukraine to Putin and give him a pass to  invade European NATO members. As former US Secretaries of State and Defense, Condoleezza Rice and Robert Gates warned, “to avoid confrontation with Russia, the U.S. must help Ukraine push back the invader now…. If this lesson is ignored and Ukraine is defeated, Russia will almost certainly … attack NATO member countries.” 

Trump’s decision will be informed by several issues. Americans’ support for defending NATO members against a Russian invasion varies depending on which member is attacked. Only 35 percent support using military force to defend Latvia and Croatia. Less than half support a direct military confrontation in all other NATO members except in Germany, France and Great Britain.

By contrast, 82 percent of Russians have supported Putin’s prior invasions. His ratings rose to 84 percent during the second war in Chechnya and to 88 percent after he annexed Crimea

At home however, the Iran war is so unpopular that Trump won’t want to embark on a similar adventure. It has also weakened America’s military readiness that would make a U.S. victory against Russia tortuous and near impossible. 

Although Trump recently joined other NATO leaders in affirming ​an “ironclad commitment” to defend NATO, we know that Trump has broken more promises than he’s kept. And when he’s back in DC and not wanting to shame himself in front of NATO leaders, we’re bound to hear another hedge instead of a commitment. Perhaps he’ll assure us that the invasion will “disappear like a miracle,” like he said about the Covid pandemic.  

I can’t conclude this article without noting that this is what Trump’s Republicans have wrought. They’ve been the only elected officials who could have prevented the carnage. It’s not too late for them to prevent the worst outcomes. But they’d have to grow spines and elevate what’s good for America over keeping their jobs. 

They should take a lesson from Matthew 16:26, “what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?” But Republicans are sacrificing their soul — not for the whole world — but to accommodate a rogue President in order to keep their seats in Congress which they’ve elevated above their Constitutional duty to accommodate the will of your constituents and the rest of America.

So America needs to replace Republicans tethered to Trump with Republicans not on his leash, or with Democrats. There’s never a more urgent need remove a president as quickly as possible.

The post MAYBE AMERICA NEEDS TO HIT ROCK BOTTOM BEFORE WE CAN FIX IT first appeared on Inside The Political Chaos.

Three lower courts had issued injunctions blocking Trump’s executive order as unconstitutional. At that time, the injunctions were universal, meaning they prohibited federal immigration officials from enforcing the executive order anywhere in the United States. 

On June 27, 2025, Trump asked the Supreme Court to limit the broad scope of the injunctions against him, arguing that individual district judges lacked the authority to issue universal injunctions and that their injunctions could bind only the parties covered by the litigation. 

The Court accommodated him and limited the scope of the preliminary injunctions to parties covered by the litigation. It also stayed the three injunctions that blocked Trump’s executive order and sent them back to the lower courts to reconsider the scope of their holdings in light of the Supreme Court’s decision. 

The Supreme Court did not address the constitutionality of the executive order challenging birthright citizenship at that time, even though every court that had considered the issue had found it to be unconstitutional.

The administration is now free to enforce executive orders that were held unconstitutional or otherwise illegal against people throughout the rest of the country who were not protected by the injunction, including those who can’t afford legal representation or join in lawsuits seeking relief. 

Instead of a single decision avoiding a nation-wide illegal policy, civil rights organizations and other plaintiffs must file multiple repetitive cases in different federal districts. Even then, the administration can enforce its illegal policies in districts where judges have not yet ruled.

Nationwide injunctions have stifled many of Trump’s illegal efforts through executor orders, such as cutting domestic financial assistance and freezing foreign aid to name a few.  Unthinkably, most injunctions against Trump’s illegal executive orders no longer apply beyond the limits imposed by the Supreme Court. 

The results of limiting the scope of injunctions also seem unworkable. First, it will give Trump the choice of where to and, more importantly, where not to enforce his unconstitutional executive orders. That will open the door to requiring donations to his campaign to accommodate the interests of different parties.

Tragically, this is a part of a pattern of the Supreme Court majority Justices abdicating their Constitutional duty to act as a check and balance on the President.

• 19 donors received government contracts totaling $338 billion over the last 5 ½ years.

• 14 donors had federal enforcement actions against them suspended. 

• Antitrust actions involving Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and T-Mobile were suspended.

• Labor rights cases involving Amazon, Apple, Caterpillar, Google, Lockheed and Meta, and SEC matters involving Coinbase and Ripple, were suspended.  

• Election spending by Trump ballroom donors from 2021 to 2025 was $819,767,243.
• Trump’s paying $38.3 billion to his buddies to use their warehouses as detention centers to hold immigrants. Is he profiting from ICE’s Gestapo-like roundup of immigrants.

In other words, these donors made a lot more than they donated.

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool Renovation: $16million paid by taxpayers.
Trump’s estimated $1.8million cost for his botched renovation of the LincolnMemorial reflecting pool sky rocketed to more than $16million that is paid for with your tax dollars to two contractors without going through the required bidding process. One is owned by a twice-convicted felon John J. Cafaro who contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Trump political committees. He resorted to his usual tactic of shirking responsibility by claiming, without any supporting evidence, that six vandals had been arrested for a putting a “350-foot gash” in the paint he chose which caused the invasion of ubiquitous algae.

Proposed Triumphal Arlington Arch r: $100million paid by taxpayers
Trump wants to spend $100million of taxpayer money to honor himself with a Triumphal Arch near Arlington Cemetery. Punsters frequently refer to it as the “Arc de Trump.”  Nearly all Americans who have weighed in on the project find it offensive. 

Trump’s 250th Army Anniversary Military Parade: $30 to $45 paid by taxpayers.
Trump spent  $30 million–$45 of taxpayer money on his 250th army Anniversary Military Parade. It was America’s first to feature heavy duty military equipment and the first in three decades not associated with a presidential inauguration or victory at war. It is also the first to coincide with a President’s birthday. 

Given the infrequency military parades and coincidence of the flag’s birth, the army anniversary and Trump’s birthday, it’s evident that the parade is meant to glorify Trump. It is also seen as a wannabe spectacle of his authoritarian idols, Vladimir Putin, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and, yes, Adolf Hitler, who also held a military parade on his birthday.

These are expenditures of taxpayer money that have no relevance to the public good. And if we add the cost of corruption by the President and his cabinet, we come up with enough money to fund basic needs of Americans. including: 

• Housing for tens of thousands of families. Trump won’t sign bipartisan affordable housing bill until Congress passes voter suppression bill.

• Childcare for working parents which is unaffordable in every State. 

• Fixing aging bridges and roads. The current Infrastructure Law funding isn’t enough to do the job.

• Expanding access to mental health care

• Boosting teachers’ pay and keeping classrooms staffed. Many districts struggle to recruit and retain teachers due to low pay and challenging working conditions.

• Strengthening and reopening rural hospitals and emergency rooms. Republican cuts to Medicare and Medicaid are likely to close many rural hospitals.
  
• Tackling homelessness. A record number of people nationally are homeless.

• Disaster preparedness and climate resilience  Trump obliterated the agencies that provided this. 

In 2024, 45.5% of U.S. households didn’t earn enough to cover their necessities. A mere $1,000 hike in the cost of living would leave another 3 million households unable to cover basic needs such as housing, healthcare and childcare. For some, paying for essentials means skipping meals, increased debt and delayed medical care.

So as middle and low earners are forced to scrape by as Trump spends their tax dollars on underserved homage to himself. And he’s been a good example for the rest of his administration who have successfully employed his dishonesty.

After World War II, America led the world in building a global trading order,

a stable world economy, geopolitical calm and international trust in our

government. It’s all quickly vanishing by sitting Republicans who enable

Trump to take a bull dozer to our government and the global respect, trust

and influence America enjoyed for centuries. Sitting Republicans are the

only part of our government in a position stop Trump

rom eviscerating what’s left of our government. Tragically, though, they’re

on Trump’s leash and have violated their Constitutional obligation to act as

a check on presidential tyranny rather than surrendering to it. Trump has so

much confidence in their complicity and cowardice that he commits his

treacheries and corruption in broad daylight.

REPUBLICANS BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL

Every House Republican except two voted for it. The bill takes money from

Medicare and Medicaid benefits and food assistance programs to cover

1the trillions in lost tax revenue from the Republicans’ $4.5 trillion tax cut

for America’s wealthiest. It’s like wiring money from your bank account

directly to the very rich.

Trump has a history of borrowing more than he can afford. He’s

doing it again. But this time the U.S. Treasury is on the hook. Worse, he

also has a long history of defaulting on his debts, including in 6

bankruptcies. He was turned down by 30 lenders and Bonding companies.

60 lawsuits and judgments reveal that he stiffed dishwashers, waiters,

plumbers, bartenders, carpenters, other hourly workers and small

businesses.

TRUMP’S TRUE ECONOMY

The wealth gap in America is shamefully wide.

Wealth inequality in America just hit its widest gap in more than 3

decades.

• Since 1989, the share of American household wealth held by the top

0.1% increased more than 60%. Everybody else’s fell.

• The wealthiest 1% held $55 trillion in assets in 2025 which was

equal to the wealth held by the bottom 90%.

• The top 10% own $61 trillion in assets. The bottom 50% own $4.21T.• Billionaire wealth in 2025 increased three times fasterthan the

average wealth over the previous five years.

• A rising stock market hasn’t helped the bottom two thirds of

Americans because the top third owns 87% of the market.

• Trump’s tariffs are the highest since the Depression and have

increased U.S. retail prices by $1,100-$2,300 for basic items. Tariffs

on building materials raised new home construction costs by 3.3%,

stifling home building and making homes unaffordable for most

Americans.

• Republicans claim middle- and low-income earners will gain “at

least $13,000 a year” under Republicans’ Big Beautiful Bill. But that

was based on inflated growth predictions that never materialized,

just like the last five times Republicans made the same promise.

• Republicans claimed their bill would reduce the federal deficit by

$1.4 trillion. The bipartisan Congressional Office said it will add a

least $3.3 trillion.

• Consumer loan defaults are on the rise.

• Car payment delinquencies surged to a record.

• Credit card defaults climbed to the highest levels since the 2008

financial crisis.

• Total household debt hit an all-time high. Consumer sentiment, an

indicator of future growth, is at record lows

TRUMP RISKS THE NEXT RECESSION AND COULD MISMANAGIE IT

INTO A

DEPRESSION

Trump’s tariffs are the highest since President Hoover’s which started a

trade war that deepened the Depression. The U.S. was a large creditor

nation then, and, thanks to the Republicans, is now a large debtor nation.

So borrowing to spend our way out of a recession will be difficult.Trump and the most dangerous, unqualified cabinet in America’s history

that the Republicans confirmed could mismanage it into a depression. We

came close during the Great Recession of 2008, but Presidents Bush’s and

Barak Obama prevented it. They called on Treasury Secretary Henry

Paulson (previously Goldman Sach CEO), Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke,

and NY Fed President Tim Geithner to save us with a bank bailout and an

economic stimulus. Each had deep experience in US and international

monetary policy. In 2008, it was international cooperation that saved us.

There’ll be none of that next time. Nether Trump nor his cabinet will have

any idea what to do.

THE IRAN WAR

You can add it to the list of Trump’s betrayals that were enabled by his

subjugated Republicans. Our European allies denied Trump’s request for

help in clearing the Strait of Hormuz. They would have helped if Trump

hadn’t alienated them by:

• Withdrawing from international agreements, including the 7-nation

Iran nuclear deal,

• Constantly disparaging NATO, European countries and their leaders.

• His surprise (and illegal) tariffs,

• Not alerting our allies in advance of the bombings of Iran. History

shows that when the United States consults allies to align strategies

before acting, they are much more willing to help.

• Trump, not having consulted anybody outside his unqualified toadies,

had didn’t know that securing the Strait would need coordination with

other countries and a legitimate political purpose which was absent.

• His real reasons for bombing Iran were to distract voters from the

Epstein scandal and his punishing economy.

• Trump readied 50,000 troops to invade Iran. A ground war would

require as many as 1.6 million troops — roughly three-quarters of the

U.S. military, including combat forces America doesn’t have.

• It will be near-impossible to win. Rugged mountains make up half of

Iran’s territory. And its urban centers are inland and protected by the

mountains and uninhabitable deserts.

• China and Russia will be delighted to see our military power

weakened, giving them the opportunity to be more aggressive.

• Trump fired the counterintelligence unit tasked with monitoring threats

from Iran. It hobbled the United States’ ability to detect and subvertIran’s retaliatory threats. Did Trump not want intelligence to stand in

his way of the bombing?

• Trump’s only off ramp may to declare victory and pull out, which

would leave Iran to charge tolls at the Strait of Hormuz and rebuild its

infrastructure, strengthen its economy and increase its treacheries.

It’s clear who won and who lost the war.

TRUMP’S TRADE STRATEGY AND FOREIGN POLICY

The Supreme Court decided that Trump’s tariffs were illegal, but they’ve

already driven our trading partners to replace America with other countries.

• Canada now buys more cars from Mexico than the U.S. for the first

time in

three decades. No wonder auto manufacturing has lost 29,000 jobs

since November of 2024.

• China, the world’s largest soybeans buyer, switched from buying from

U.S. farmers to buying from Brazil and Argentina. Trump had to pay

more than $10 billion to compensate our farmers for the lost

revenues.

• Peru switched to buying blueberries and textiles from Asia, Europe

and South Africa.

• The EU signed a free-trade agreement with Indonesia eliminating

tariffs for most goods it used to buy from the U.S.

• Canadian Prime Minister Carney visited China for the 1st time and

signed an agreement to tear down trade barriers and forge a new

strategic relationship because China is “a more predictable and

reliable partner” than the U.S.

• India and the EU signed a free trade agreement creating a $2B

market that accounts for nearly a quarter of global GDP, but excludes

the U.S.

• The EU signed a free trade agreement with Mercosur, a bloc

comprising Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It will create

one of the world’s largest free trade zones, with more than 700 million

people.

• UK Prime Minister Keir Stamer led a delegation of more than 50

British companies to China from sectors such as finance, healthcareand manufacturing. The two countries are expected to sign trade and

investment agreements that exclude the U.S. They expect China to

buy agricultural products from Canadian farmers that will replace

products formerly purchased from U.S. farmers.

• The six countries in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and

South Africa), which represent a third of global GDP and nearly half

the world’s population, deepened their ties with Russia and China.

• Spain and Brazil signed 15 agreements covering critical minerals,

telecoms and artificial intelligence at a meeting hosted by Spain’s

Prime Minister who plans to strengthen ties with countries pushing

back against America’s aggressive foreign policy.

• India and Moscow expanded their bilateral trade ties with the BRICS.

• The Prime Minister of India made his first visit to China in seven

years, where he held hands with both Putin and Xi.

• Trump exited the Transpacific Partnership (TPP) with eleven Pacific

rim countries that excluded China. It would have eliminated 18,000

tariffs on American exports and establish stronger labor standards

and environmental protections that would have put state-owned

enterprises on a level playing field with U.S. businesses. After Trump

pulled out, China stepped in and took our place. The result: Trump

gifted one-third of global trade to China.

CORRUPTION

Trump’s enslaved Republicans watch as he brazenly and in full daylight

violate the Constitution’s prohibition against federal officials receiving any

profit or benefit from a foreign government without Congressional consent.

• They let him abolish the guardrails that restricted presidential

corruption and then build his net worth from $4.3 billion in 2024 to

over $7.3 billion in 2025. No American President before him ever

abused their Presidency to enrich themselves.

• Anonymous profitable purchases and sales of oil futures were

made 15 minutes before and after Trump announced the bombing of

Iran and the cease fire.

Trump made $500 million in 2025 plus $50 million annually from

nine deals with the Saudis. He arranged for a United Arab Republic

Sheikh to buy $2 billion of stablecoin from a crypto firm in which

Trump owned a 60 percent. Then Trump quickly allowed it to import

AI computer chips in violation of a Congressional ban.• He accepted a $400 million luxury jet from Qatar.

• The Kuwaiti embassy switched its National Day celebration from

the Four Seasons to the Trump International Hotel in D.C under

pressure from Trump.

• Trump bragged that the Saudis paid his businesses hundreds of

millions of dollars. Then, against bipartisan demand, Trump refused

to punish Saudi Arabia and its Crown Prince for the murder of

American journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

• He withdrew our troops from Syria against military advice to allow

Turkish President Erdoğan to annihilate the Kurds who fought along

with our soldiers to defeat ISIS while Trump was profiting from Trump

Towers in Istanbul and a $400 million Turkish investment.

• Trump vetoed an act of Congress blocking an $8 billion arms sale to

Saudi Arabia then proceeded to make the sale. Citing hundreds of

millions of dollars the Saudi’s paid his businesses, Trump asked

mockingly, “Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.”

PARDONS

If you’re convicted of perjury, committing tax or bank fraud, aiding election

finance crimes, an insurrection, lying to the FBI, rigging an election with

foreign help or impeding a Congressional investigation Trump will pardon

you. He pardoned:

• Nearly 1,500 individuals charged with offenses related to the January

6, 2021, Capitol riot, many of whom were convicted of violent crimes.

It’s likely that ICE agents wear masks to hide the identity of the

criminals he pardoned.

• After calling for the death penalty for drug dealers, Trump pardoned

Ross Ulbricht, the founder of a secret platform for the sale of illegal

drugs.

• Jho Low who was accused of stealing $4.5 billion from Malaysia’s

sovereign wealth fund.

• Members of his innermost circles, including his campaign chairman

Paul Manafort who was convicted of bank and tax fraud, and Trump’s

long-time confident, Roger Stone, indicted for lying to Congress;• Charles Kushner, Ivanka’s father-in-law who pleaded guilty to 16

counts of tax evasion, and

• Trump’s chief strategist, Steve Bannon arrested for stealing $25

million of donations from hundreds of thousands of supporters who

donated to the “Build the Wall” fundraising campaign. Instead he

spent it on home renovations, cosmetic surgery, and a boat.

Republicans gulled Democrats into agreeing to vote for a bill that didn’t

renew subsidies that kept Obamacare affordable. Republicans promised to

address the issue after the bill passed. Of course, they didn’t. As a result,

Obamacare premiums doubled.

Trump’s cuts to medical and technology research and his hostility towards

immigrants sent our qualified experts to China. At least 85 U.S. scientists

have joined Chinese research institutions since the start of last year, and

China is culling experts from across the globe who would have come to the

U.S. but for Trump’s actions.

TRUMP ILLEGALLY ELIMINATED 90% OF FOREIGN AID, CAUSING

THE SPREAD OF DISEASES AND DEATHS.

Trump illegally eliminated 90% of foreign aid for development and disease

prevention while HIV and drug-resistant tuberculosis were spreading

unchecked around the globe. As a result, more than 780,000 people in

developing nations, two-thirds of them children, died.

The U.S is losing key benefits of the foreign aid Trump cut . It:

• Spreads America’s influence, leadership and military might around

the world, including having locations for U.S. military bases and

developing and maintaining critical allies.

• Bolsters economic and political stability in developing countries that

reduces coups by corrupt leaders hostile to America.• Strengthens the U.S. economy by growing foreign industries that

buy U.S goods. Over the past 10 years, nearly two-thirds of the

growth in U.S. exports went to major recipients of U.S. aid.

TRUMP HOBBLED AMERICA’S ABILITY TO PREPARE FOR

DISASTERS AND RESCUE THEIR VICTIMS.

• He cut funding for the agencies that prepare for catastrophes and

rescue their victims in order to replace revenues lost from his $4.5

trillion tax cut for the wealthy.

• The agencies he hobbled could have saved most – maybe all – of the

120 people killed in Kerr County, Texas.

• FEMA had warned Trump that it was unprepared for disasters due

to the mass exodus of emergency managers.

• Kristy Noem fired the highly qualified head of FEMA for opposing

its dismantling and hired someone with no background in

emergency management who said he had not been aware the

country had a hurricane season.

• Just before a record-breaking hurricane season, the National

Weather Service had 216 vacant positions due to Trump’s

government-wide hiring freeze.

• He stopped the analysis of weather data and turned off weather-

tracking satellites.

SENATE REPUBLICANS APPROVED THE MOST UNQUALIFIED

AND DANGEROUS CABINET IN AMERICAN HISTORY,

Senate Republicans sacrificed America’s health, security, safety, crime-

control and economy to protect both their anatomical and

Congressional seats. Take a look at whom Republicans confirmed:

• A Secretary of Health who discourages the use of provenvaccines even though they knew the death rate among those

vaccinated against Covid was 5 times lower than among the

unvaccinated.

• An alcoholic Fox co-host and sex offender as Defense

Secretary who is willing to unleash the military on Trump’s enemies

and wouldn’t discourage Trump’s impulsive use of nuclear

weapons, as Trump attempted when it took his Chairman of the Joint

Chiefs of Staff, General Milly, to stop him.

• A Director of National Intelligence who parroted false Russian

propaganda and posted a video repeating false Russian claims.

• An Attorney General who pledged to prosecute the prosecutors

who indicted Trump.

• An FBI Director who pledged to use the FBI to “go after the … media”

that opposes Trump and that he’d purge any FBI employee who

refuses to implement Trump’s retribution against his enemies.

SITTING REPUBLICANS TOLERATE TRUMP’S CRUEL INHUMANITY,

SHAMING THE U.S. ACROSS THE GLOBE INCLUDING:

• His masked Gestapo-like ICE arrests of immigrants and sending

many to the Western Hemisphere’s most gruesome prison.

TRUMP CHOOSING PUTIN OVER ZALENSKI IS LIKELY TO LEAD TO

RUSSIA’S INVASION OF NATO MEMBERS

• Handing Ukraine to Putin will set the stage for him to invade

European NATO members to help fulfill his dream of a Russian-led

Eurasian empire.

• Trump is pushing Zalenski to accept Putin’s preposterous conditions.

help Ukraine push back the invader now…. If this lesson is ignored and

Ukraine is defeated, Russia will almost certainly … attack NATO member

An outbreak of Bundibugyo (“BVD”), a disease caused by a strain of the

Ebola virus just broke out in the Democratic Republic of Congo and was

declared an international emergency by the World Health Organization.

If it hits the United States, and Trump repeats his performance against

Covid, we’re likely suffer the most BVD cases and deaths in the world.

America suffered more Covid cases and deaths than any other country.

Having failed to control its spread, Trump turned to massive

misinformation. He predicted the mortality rate would be close to zero

“within a couple of days” and will “disappear like a miracle” and everybody

“infected is getting better.”

He abandoned over 7 decades of America leading the fight againstglobal pandemics including Ebola and seven other diseases.Obama sent

more than 3,000 health officials to West Africa as part of a 10,000

international team he helped organize. Cases fell by 80 percent from

their peak levels. He also prepared healthcare facilities in the U.S. to

combat a possible outbreak at home. In total, just 11 cases and two deaths

reported in the U.S.

TRUMP ILLEGALLY REPLACES DEMOCRATIC HEADS OF AGENCIES

WITH REPUBLICANS

• Trump replaced a Democratic FTC Commissioner with a Republican

in violation of Congress’s express prohibition against firing employees

without cause. Shamefully, Trump’s obedient Supreme Court Chief

Justice violated his Court’s 90-year precedent and stayed a lower

court injunction against the firing. Trump is now

free to replace any agency Democrat with a Republican to bring the

agencies, which were created by Congress, under his control.

• Trump also fired the first black female member of the National Labor

Relations Board, also a Democrat, created by Congress. It deprived

the Board of the ability to make decisions or hear cases on unfair

labor practices and union representation.

Sitting Republicans are the only part of America’s government that can rein

Trump in. But they refuse, so they need to be replaced. Impeachment and

removal may be a drastic step, but it is more necessary now than ever, and

a new national poll finds that 55% of likely 2026 voters nationwide

support impeaching and removing Trump—an extraordinary and

unprecedented level of support so early in a presidential term.

But it’s necessary to repair the colossal damage Trump’s wreaked on

America and restore the honor, trust and respect that Republicans helped

Trump strip away that diminished a respected global leader to the most

immoral country and a nation widely mocked, distrusted, and increasingly

shunned.

BVD’s fatality rate is 30%–50% and it’s spread through direct contact with the body fluids of infected persons or those who have died from the disease.

Dr. Maneji Mangundu who just returned from the outbreak’s epicenter was asked how Trump’s humanitarian aid cutbacks affected the ability to contain BVD. He didn’t hesitate. He warned that Trump’s cuts to USAID have reduced the funding necessary to battle the disease, and, as a result,  BVD now poses an international public health risk.  

Doctors Without Borders warned that Trump’s cuts will cripple the ability to deploy qualified medical experts at BVD’s epicenter. As a VP at a medical technology company focusing on public health and defense against infectious diseases said, “the most effective intervention is identifying … infected individuals, contact tracing, isolating, and treating them.” Sadly, Trump’s medical aid cuts make that very difficult. As Dr. Mangundu lamented, “by now we would have had a lot of teams on the ground responding. But the limitation of resources makes it difficult.” 

If Trump repeats his abdication of presidential responsibility during the Covid pandemic, America will suffer the most BVD deaths and cases of any other country. At the end of Trump’s first term, America was the world’s richest country but it suffered more Covid cases and deaths than any other country including China, whose population is more than four times larger. The U.S accounted for just 4.2 percent of the world’s population but 30 percent of COVID cases and 19 percent of COVID deaths. Twelve other countries, including China,  were returning to work while the U.S. remained shut down.

While China was providing thousands of virus-fighting supplies to countries on three continents, the U.S. was so short of protective gear that it had to ask other countries for help. Yet, in true form, Trump boasted, “We have so many companies making so many products” and “We have millions of masks being done. We have respirators. We have ventilators.” 

During Covid, Trump abandoned seven decades of U.S. leadership in 

fighting infectious diseases including Ebola and six other global pandemics. In contrast, Obama stopped Ebola at its source. He sent more than 3,000 health officials to West Africa as part of a 10,000 international team that he helped organize. They provided treatment units, hospital beds, medical equipment, contact tracing, health care training, burial units and travel restrictions. Cases fell by 80 percent from their peak levels.

He also led the fight against Ebola at home by preparing hospitals, treatment centers, health departments and health care workers to combat a possible outbreak. In total, just 11 cases and two deaths were reported in the U.S. 

Having failed to control COVID’s spread, Trump did what he always does: he flooded Americans with massive misinformation and shifted blame to Obama, governors, the media and, most bizarrely, the World Health Organization, whose funding he suspended.

He predicted the mortality rate “within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero,” that it would “disappear like a miracle,” that  “everybody infected is getting better.”

Even before Covid, Trump was warned that America wasn’t prepared for the next pandemic and he saw the results in the record Covid cases and deaths under his watch. Now he’s witnessing the beginning of the spread of the deadly BVD. Yet he’s intent on continuing to disassemble the countries defense against infectious diseases. Only the sitting Republicans can stop him. Where the hell are they?

Let me introduce to our President, Donald Trump. He’s a President whom sitting Republicans enabled, tolerate and refuse to remove.

Trump’s father taught him a lesson: “Do not leave yourself on the hook for loans.” So, in Atlantic City, he had his casinos overborrow secured by mortgages, took half the money from the proceeds to pay off his personal loans, defaulted on every casino mortgage, stiffed his workers and investors and left the City in economic shambles. In other words, sheer larceny 

What followed in Atlantic is not pretty.  It’s reflected in the City’s 8.9% unemployment rate– nearly double the national average of 4.2%.

“Trump turned Atlantic City into a ghost town,” says photographer Brian Rose who photographed the City in 2016. The bankrupt Taj was practically empty as if all its workers had left in a hurry. Sand dunes damaged by its construction surrounded the once -vibrant hotel.  Stray cats nestled where gamblers often drank. “Trump’s legacy still haunts the boardwalk,” Rose said.

An architectural critic lamented the City’s “Bleakness” and sense of emptiness. It was a scene that could have been part of a Blade Runner movie. 

The calamity was inevitable. Just four months after Trump opened the Taj Mahal, the New Jersey Casino Control Commission issued a foreboding report that 253 subcontractors had not been paid a total of $69.5 million in full or on time. Most of it was owed to small, local family businesses, many of which had to close, leaving workers unemployed throughout the area. 

Atlantic City has also become the nation’s mortgage foreclosure capital where workers will lose their homes and be unable to afford to move elsewhere to seek new jobs.

For Trump it was a very different story. He told the New York Times about his 25 years in Atlantic City: “The money I took out of there was incredible.” 

Now he’s taking his father’s advice to his presidency. He abolished the guardrails that restricted presidential corruption and had the U.S. Treasury issue record debt to be paid by taxpayers and from Medicare and Medicaid, he skimmed off of it enough to build his net worth from $4.3 billion in 2024 to over $7.3 billion in 2025. 

Trump’s risking a recession as interest rates rise on our Treasury debt – a recession that he and the most dangerous and unqualified cabinet ever, shamefully confirmed by Senate Republicans, could mismanage into a depression. 

Does the Bible’s admonition — what we sow, we shall reap – come to mind.
